Client’s Request:
Grammy-winning songwriter, author, and “inner perspective performance artist” Dorothea Joyce asked us to build a website that would promote her various activities, and offer a sales page for Books, CDs, and DVDs. She requested:
- an introduction to Dorothea
- a variety of pages describing her philosophy and activities
- a “market” page
- contact info
Designer’s Comments:
This website was built in 2005 using a frame structure, which was acceptable at the time. Modern HTML and CSS allow for much greater freedom in design, but this site used the frame structure to enhance the graphic look in interesting ways. In retrospect, you could say this was an early version of what we now call a responsive design (watch the graphic elements at the top of the site adjust as you resize the browser window). We’ve made additions to the website periodically as Dorothea creates new work.
