Alchemy Oracle
Client’s Request:
Award Winning Artist and Writer Carolyn Mary Kleefeld had many reports of readers using her book The Alchemy of Possibility: Reinventing Your Personal Mythology for Bibliomancy – seeking a Reading by asking a question and opening the book at a random page. She asked us to create that same experience on the internet.

Designer’s Comments:
Each of the Readings in Carolyn’s book is accompanied by one of Carolyn’s paintings. I wanted to use her own artwork in the design of the website’s theme, as well as create an easy way for visitors to see the paintings on their own outside of the Reading Pages. A special custom designed JavaScript engine powers the Oracle itself. Other parts of the site, including the gallery and navigation use some cool modern JavaScripted technology. In brainstorming on how the Oracle could be best represented online, I started to think about the nature of the oracle itself. The result is an essay that Carolyn wanted added to the site.
